Nepal, where does your contribution go?
Thank you for your trust and solidarity! In just a few days we have collected around 3000 Euro and there are many more donations on the way! Here is a small report to see where your contribution goes and how much it helps.
We are sending the funds to Sunrise Children Association inc., an Australian NGO, based in Kathmandu, which has been working in Nepal since 2007.
Sunrise Children Association inc., (SCAI), under the wise and energetic direction of Emma Taylor, works on three projects:
- Sunrise Orphanage - an orphanage housing around 70 boys
- Education Scholarship Programs - It deals with educational programmes in schools in rural areas, scholarships...
- Community Training Centres - Formation of centres and meeting points where children and families can find a reference point for daily life, health, school and more.
All projects are coordinated directly from Nepal. The staff consists of young, bright people with a desire to get things done; most are locals who know the areas, the mentality of the Nepalese people, their government and much more.

Here are a couple
30 April 2015 - Following the big earthquake that had devastated our beautiful country, Nepal.
We would like to thank everyone sincerely who has made donations so far too help us provide urgent assistance to many families affected by the recent earthquake. We have raised almost $20,000!!!
Today we distributed 100 sacks of rice, 40 big tarpaulins and some other dry food to our village neighbours in Gurje, Nuwakot.
Thank you so much for your generous support!
4 May 2015 - Tarpaulins provided for over 1200 families so far with badly damaged homes. More tarpaulins on their way as many more in need. Thank you all for your wonderful support.
Our team is doing such a great job, assessing the situation with visits to the homes, the temporary places they are sleeping, then distributing the tarps according to need and family size. Much harder work this way (and hours of walking!) but worth it to ensure no duplication and that we're reaching the most needy in the communities we work - specific areas of Nuwakot, Sindupalchowk, Kathmandu and Kavre.
